Prof. George Tchobanoglous

Dr. George Tchobanoglous is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis. His research interests are in the areas of wastewater treatment and water reuse, small and decentralized wastewater management systems, and solid waste management. He has authored or co-authored over 580 technical publications including 23 textbooks and 8 reference works. His books are well known for successfully bridging the gap between academia and the day-to-day world of the engineer. He has given more than 570 technical presentations, both in the United States and abroad. His degrees include a B.S. degree in civil engineering from the University of the Pacific, an M.S. degree in sanitary engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in environmental engineering from Stanford University.

Prof. Cristina Trois

Full Professor in Environmental Engineering, and NRF/DSI South African Research Chair in Waste and Climate Change (SARCHI) at the University of kwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. Prof. Trois has over 20 years of experience in waste management and has been the principal investigator as well as the project coordinator of many feasibility and R&D waste management projects with municipalities in South Africa and Africa. Author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals; she is a C1 rated scientist with the NRF. She developed and coordinates the first Master Programme in Waste and Resources Management in South Africa.

Prof. Ezio Ranieri

Dr. Ezio Ranieri is Associate Professor at the University of Bari in Environmental Engineering. His research interests are in the areas of clariflocculation, ozonation, PAC adsorption of dye wastewaters, water disinfection (drinking water, wastewater and reuse, fluidodynamics), constructed wetlands, phytoremediation/phytoextraction, chlorites and nom removal in drinking water treatment plants, thermal waste processes, waste to energy and wastewater treatment. He is author of more 100 papers on international Research Journal on thermal waste processes, waste to energy and wastewater treatment.
